qui veu, qui sap, 2022
photographic serie

The experience of observation, of what is hidden and muted, is at the heart of the series, where places seem to be consumed like our lives: frenetically and precariously. Gradually, as one builds a relationship, Camille considers the different strata that shape the identity of the village of Cadaqués, its social fabric. The photographs in the series are taken over a long period of time, in a variety of contexts: moments hidden from the eyes of the first tourist. A dissonance is created between the postcard images and this plural identity that cannot be perceived in an instant. The series bears witness to a less smooth side, one that speaks to the complexity of territories, sometimes apprehended superficially. But like every place, Cadaqués is full of secrets, influences and stories. Perhaps even more so because it is isolated, almost an insular place. Isolated; but whose image is infinitely multiplied. It’s reminiscent of our relationship with social networks, between interconnection and emptiness, “letting it appear”. The question arises: what do we want to know?

Through the post-production of her photographs, which combine digital and analog, Camille blurs the temporal dimensions and scale of the images to give them a surrealist edge: we wonder by what gravity the protagonists seem to be walking delicately on an almost sharp floor. In “Qui veu, qui sap” - we lose track of time, and no longer know whether we’re putting down roots or running away.
